Review: Yves Saint Laurent Pinceau Eyeliner Brush

I recently had the chance to try a new eyeliner brush.  I've always preferred Bobbi Brown's ultra thin eyeliner brush (despite the name, it's actually thicker than a standard eyeliner brush) but decided variety is the spice of life - so, I picked up this YSL brush when I left my brush when visiting out of town this month.

The brush comes in the standard yellow YSL box.  Made to work with YSL's Effet Faux Cils cream eyeliner - but will work with most gel eyeliners, too.  The handle is shorter than most eyeliner brushes.  I like this as it gives me more control over the brush's movement.

The brush is advertised as being "calligraphy-style".  And, it is.  The brush reminds me of a smaller version of a Chinese calligraphy brush.

The shape of the brush allows you to just "paint" the gel eyeliner on.  It's very smooth and easy to use and it delivers a nice line.

Overall, I prefer a brush that offers more control.  I like to play with my eyeliner and this is a little too fluid.  If, however, you like to draw a nice smooth line every time - this could be the brush for you.  I picked mine up at my local Sephora for $25.

If you've tried this brush I'd love to hear your thoughts.  Is there another you prefer?
